A. When the page loads look for the IM comtact list, click where your status says "Available" then click Sign out of Chat. This will disable it until you want to activate it again.

A. Click on Tools in your browser and then click on Delete browser history then Delete. that should help. Still slow? then do a full Virus scan If you want a free Anti-virus click on this address and download AVG anti -spyware this does the lot evena browser check as well. good luck. have a great day

Ive received 150MB ofdownloaded pictures from l.yimg.com or variants thereof in 2 days. How do I stop it!!?
Q. These pictures are unrequested, unwanted and consume downlad capacity. Please advise how I can stop, block or cease having these unsolicited pictures consuming my broadband capacity. I have today switched back to Yahoo mail classic in an attempt to stop them but surely there is a neater solution.

A. Yimg.com is the image server for Yahoo!. The server probably was down at the time, or the link to the image your email tries to retrieve is corrupted. I guess if you set up your mail reader not to display any graphic images, you will be able to see the textual content of the email.

Q. us.js2.yimg It appears in my lower left hand window when using IE & firefox.& changes to urd. If I search for anything in yahoo, google it changes to a 'fake ' search selling sex & other stuff. Namely it leads to My Web Search.. Anyone else have it or had it? It changes the next web page which is opened to My Search which then leads to 'naughty' websites & a fake yahoo search engine with results trying to sell everything. To unblock any and all images, to to the "Options" link in the upper right-hand corner, then "Spam Protection," then click the "Continue" button at the bottom twice to get to Step 3 of this procedure. Once there, select the top bubble of 3, which says not to block ANY images, then be sure to save these ammendments. This should unblock all images from us.i1.yimg.com and everything else.

A. It's probably using SSL and you've unintentionally disabled SSL in your Firefox profile either by installing an extension or changing your options. Start Firefox in "safe mode" from the Start button which disables all your extensions. If it works there, then it's an extension problem and you need to disable all your extensions one by one in Tools->Addons and see which one is causing it. If not, check Tools->Options and there should be a "Security" or "Encryption" tab. Make sure SSL2 and/or SSL3 are enabled. While you're at it, "Check for Updates" under "Help" and make sure you have the latest version of Firefox installed (2.0.0.1 as of this writing).
